ALBERTA ACCREDITED KINDERGARTEN
Great Journeys Learning Centre’s Kindergarten Program surpasses the Alberta Education time requirement of 475 hours per year by offering 570 hours within our half-day program, enhancing fun, learning and socialization to best prepare for grade one.
Great Journeys Learning Centre believes that all children have unique gifts, talents and the potential to become excellent learners and be successful. All children enrolled within our Kindergarten Program will enjoy opportunities to experience success in a manner that aligns with each child’s needs, maturity, readiness, and abilities.
ABOUT GREAT JOURNEYS
Great Journeys Learning Centre was founded by two experienced teachers passionate about seeing children thrive. Along with the help of additional educators, and community leaders, dedicated to ensuring that our children have access to a well-structured and fun Kindergarten program, Great Journeys LC was conceived. Encompassing the Kindergarten Program Statement, our children's programming provides the foundations for learning citizenship and identity, physical skills and well-being, personal and social responsibility, mathematics, early literacy, environment, and community awareness. This ensures that our children are well-prepared for their entry into elementary school.
At Great Journeys Learning Centre, we provide children with learning opportunities that promote their self-confidence and well-being, through engaging, fun activities that encourage curiosity and a love of learning. Our language and culture instruction, creates an appreciation and understanding of other cultures, providing a unique way for our children to gain community, provincial, national, and global understanding, and appreciation.
Our focus at Great Journeys Learning Centre is the children. Making each day enticing and fun helps develop our children's creativity, critical thinking, expression, innovation, inquiry, problem-solving, reflection, and teamwork abilities.
